We hope you all had a nice long weekend and have had a great second week of the school year! Here are a few school highlights we would love to share with you.
Fun Run
We are so excited to announce that this year’s annual fun run will be September 29th this year. The fun run is the school’s main fundraiser to give money directly to McKinley to support various different programs for students and staff. You may be thinking we just did the fun run a few months ago, and you are right. We made the decision to move it back to the fall in order to be able to focus more efforts towards the event at the beginning of the school year.
We also want to let you know that the goal for this year’s fun run donations is going to support three very important and large improvement projects for
- PE & Recess
- Reading & Library
- Outdoor Learning Center
The last two fun runs have been very successful for the school. We would love to build off the previous two years’ great results and provide some large improvements to the school, but we are definitely going to need your help to meet our $20,000 goal. Here are some ways you can help:
- Setup your child’s 99 Pledges donation page and pass it along to family or friends. Donations close on 10/10! Click here to go to the McKinley Fun Run 99 Pledges website
- Volunteer your time for fun run prep or day of events. A lot goes into this annual event, and we would greatly appreciate all the help we can get. Click here to sign up to be a volunteer

Safe Routes – Walking School Bus
We are thrilled to announce McKinley will be starting its first walking school bus route on September 13th meeting at Autumn Ridge Park on NW Fieldstone Dr at 7:55 am. This is an opportunity to walk with a group of McKinley students once a month. Anyone can join even if you live in a different neighborhood.
